With the last pick of the draft, Isaiah Thomas was picked up by the Sacramento Kings. First off, congratulations Isaiah. Secondly, you should have stayed another year. If you really think your stock would not have improved with an other year you are a fool. I mean, come on, some D-Leaguer who averaged .7 points a game gets picked over you...Maybe its just me...
Either way, good luck in your endeavors. Whether you ride the pine like Nate Robinson or not, you will be making tons more cash than I will.
Unfortunately, Matthew Bryan-Amaning and Justin Holiday will have to look to take their talents over seas as they went undrafted.
As a side note, Venoy Overton was drafted. The Clallam Bay Inmates-Cell Block B picked Overton with the first pick of the 3rd round.

Venoy Overton Arrested for Promoting Prostitution
Here is the Seattle Times article on the arrest: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/theblotter/2015341856_former_washington_basketball_p.html
This is the big quote:
"According to a news release, police detectives began their investigation of Overton in May, when undercover officers contacted an 18-year-old woman on Pacific Highway South. Officers learned that she had been brought to the area by her boyfriend, who directed her to perform acts of prostitution, the release said. She identified her boyfriend as Overton, according to police."
What else can I say, but Good Riddance!
I defended Overton over the years when people called him a thug, but this year he just proved them all right. For want to "change his reputation" he sure did the opposite.
Enjoy life in jail Overton because that's all you seem capable of doing.
Never though I would have to use the tags "Supplying Minors, Promoting Prostitution, and Arrested" when I started this blog up.

UW Roster for 2011-2012
So as of June 6th, 2011 this is how the roster stands for next years team. It is unlikely that UW will add anymore players and currently will be sporting 12 players on scholarship. This means we might see Brendan Sherrer, who will be going into his senior season as a 3 year walk-on, get that final scholarship. At least that's what I hope will happen. No sense sitting on a scholarship if there is a hardworking kid who has put in his hours on the team.
One other important note is that Antoine Hosley, a freshman walk-on this past season, is likely transferring to Sacramento State next season.
All the class standings represent their 2011-2012 season standings. Their height and weight are as of today, June 6th.
Seniors
Scott Suggs 6-6 195lb
Darnell Gant 6-8 225lb
Brendan Sherrer 6-8 245lb
Juniors
Abdul Gaddy 6-3 195lb
Aziz N'Diaye 7-0 260lb
Sophomores
C.J. Wilcox (RS Soph) 6-5 190lb
Terrence Ross 6-6 190lb
Freshmen
Desmond Simmons (RS Fresh.) 6-7 215lb
Andrew Andrews (Not a typo. He has essentially the same first and last name) 6-1 180lb
Hikeem Stewart 6-2 180lb
Tony Wroten Jr. 6-4 206lb
Martin Breunig 6-9 235lb
Jarnard Jarreau 6-10 190lb
I plan on having a more in depth look at the incoming freshmen, plus Simmons, and what type of impact the player could have, their position, play time possibilities, etc. I may start some blogs about the upperclassmen soon as well.

Martin Breunig is a Husky
Some late recruiting news came out today. Former Maryland recruit, Martin Breunig, has signed a financial aid agreement with Washington. With the departure of Maryland's coach, Breunig was released from his scholarship agreement with Maryland. The other school in contention for the 6'9'' 235lb big man was USF. Let's be honest, USF has nothing to offer when compared to UW, so losing out on him would have been a big red flag in my mind.
The difference between a financial aid agreement and a scholarship is fairly subtle overall, but important. Essentially UW is tied to Breunig, but Breunig is not tied to UW. Breunig can "decommit" from UW at any point, but UW has to give him a scholarship should he hold true to his word.
He is described as a better midrange shooter than a finisher at the basket, but has the tools and muscle to get it done around the rim. He will likely find his main role at the 4 position, but occasionally pushed to a 5 when Aziz needs a sub or gets in foul trouble.
Speaking of Aziz, sounds like the big man has gotten bigger and added some more muscle to his frame. The scoring is still developing, but Romar will get him there. Never fear.
Now that school is done for the year, I'll have some more time to write and I'll try to get a article up about the incoming recruits for 2011-2012.
