Recruiting News

Norvel Pelle has given St. John's a verbal commitment despite his supposed visit to UW this weekend. While his recruitment is still not on paper and official, it looks like the Dawgs have missed out on another star big man. This means the Huskies need to concentrate their recruiting efforts on Angelo Chol in an attempt to fill out what should be a solid recruiting class. If Norvel does indeed come to the game this weekend, be sure to try to convince him to change his mind. He doesn't know what he is missing out on here. He would see major minutes should he choose the UW as we tend to lack a lot of big post players. Angelo Chol is considered to be the better player of the two and is perhaps more prepared for college level game play. Let's hope the purple and gold light shines on Chol and he finds home at UW.

In other news, former UW verbal commit Enes Kanter has been declared permanently ineligible by the NCAA for receiving money during his stint with a professional basketball team in native Turkey that was considered above the necessary amount needed for food, tuition, and housing. He received approximately $100,000 during his three seasons and the NCAA found he received $33,033 more than was necessary. Looks like Romar avoided a big pain in the butt by not pursuing Kanter after his interest began to waiver.
